Can anyone say if they see something about this brand new saddle that's odd? I don't what to say what I think so as not to influence what anyone else thinks but I will explain in a bit.

looks to me like the rivets on top and underneath are set in at different angles/positions or the pommel itself is not shaped right.

If you look at the last pic of my legs this is what made me start looking at the saddle. My left knee is off the knee rolls. I don't have a wonky position (or never had noticeably wonky one before anyway!) and my left leg was agony after my hack today. When the fitter was there I noticed it and it seemed to be my stirrup leather was at a different length than the other due to being stretched so I put it down to that but couldn't get them totally even at the time, now I have evened up the stirrups and even put that one longer and my knee is still in that position. I cannot make it the same as the other one (which is completely fine) however hard I try. I then thought the off side has more stuffing than the near side. It doesn't look symmetrical to me anyway.

It looks all sorts of unbalanced in the front there, definite lack of symmetry:confused: Was it made to measure for a special needs horse?

It was a custom saddle but not really made to measure and the horse it was made for (not the one it is on) does have slightly different sized shoulders BUT I said I didn't want the saddle being squint and I wanted to even her up using a Prolite pad with adjustable shims instead of the saddle being uneven as it didn't feel the right thing to do. Then I bought a new horse and I wanted the saddle for that one instead so changed the order and the saddle actually fitted the new horse and not the one it was originally ordered for anyway, so it all seemed fine (because she has changed so dramatically with work). But even if it was on the squint horses would have thought it would still do the same to my legs??

The nearside panel also looks distinctively thinner than the offside. Hard to tell from photos but something is squint - mainly the flaps I think, but could be the panels are also not attached quite the same.

In the picture of it facing you on the fence, the left hand side panel is a very different shape to the right, it doesn't look symmetrical at all to me, does the horse it was made for have a larger left shoulder? If so, i guess the saddler has made it to fit, even though thats not what you asked for? :)

Thanks guys. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and have now phoned the fitter who is coming back again on Thursday and will send it back to the company.

Thanks again:)
