How do you get saddle pads to fit into the saddle gullet and stay there on bigger horses?
I can do it on my smaller ones but it's taking me an age to do it in the bigger ones, mainly cause I only have 1 mobile arm.
Anyone have any tips ?

Could you stand on a (safe) box to do it? I have to use an old milk crate to do certain things with the big horse I ride.

It's a thought, I am looking at getting a decent mounting block so I can step off them. I use the wall to get on but it's no good for getting back off. (I need a hoist really lol) I dismounted today off the smaller one today and forgot my shoulder does not go much more than 30 degrees.. yep you guessed it i just did a normal dismount. I yelped so bad as I left my arm on the back of the saddle that the horse stood and looked shocked. Well its solved the question that if I just yank the arm would it resolve the issue... answer is a definitive no.

Ouch:( Sorry to hear that you are suffering. When I was with only 1 working hand I stood on a small step ladder for this task, although I would only recommend this with a horse who is likely to stay put. Hope you are soon recovered x
