I need suggestions please of saddle cloths, in white, for a single flap jumping saddle - need to have the short taps on which go through the D rings obviously! They also need to be square, so not numnahs.

Thanks in advance!

Ah, have you got a springbok then?!!

I use a Numed forward cut square under G's. only thing that doesnt slip, and £22 for the normal cotton ones

LOL, yes, and it has just occured to me that I have no suitbale saddlecloths. It has also occured to em that I did not think through the whole single flap thing as I use a half pad and a square and a breastplate, and how that little lot will all fit throught he d ring I have no idea!

Yeah so do I!! I have the square, then the half pad, but the half pad velcro goes onto my stirrup leather, and the saddle clothe "tag" then gets velcroed into the half pad velcro, which leaves the D ring for the breastplate

Either that or get a Kolibri with the straps that go to the stirrup bars!!

Did you feel alot different in the Springbok to the others?!

It came down to a choice between the Springbok and the albion kontact. The kontact was £500 more, which swung it for me, along with the fact the springbok had a comfier seat! On the downside the saddle being calf skin means the insert of solid leather by my calf/ankle is v stiff and I am hoping it will break in but am expecting bruises for the first few weeks!

I couldn't ride in the impala, and I didn't like the double flap kontact as the girth buckles felt horribly bulky under my leg. Not many of the others fitted him well, whereas the ideals all seem to be perfect on him, even off the peg. I also felt he moved much more freely and was more willing and swinging through better in the ideal saddles than in anything else.

Ah ok, my legs are prob a bit longer so dont have the prob with the hard bit of leather!! It is very comfy for a single flap though

Also tried the single flap kontact and didnt like it, felt bulkier to me?!! You will love it, I feel so secure in mine

I just used any of my normal cloths under my single flap jump or dressage saddles, just dont bother with the top strap. None of them have slipped whilst using them with the girth straps through the loop on the lower edge of the cloth. Guess it is trial and error but I have never had any problems. Glad you found a saddle, interesting that you could feel him freerer through the back in the wool panelled saddle.

What you could do is get a few of the key rings things (very technical) and attach them to your D ring and then each saddlecloth etc could have its own ring to attach to and you would have enough space for everything.

Thanks for that - will try the ones I have then.
Yes, he was definitely nicer in the ideals than anything else, and in all the albions, including the one I own, he holds his tail slightly to the right, which IMO is a bad sign!

I found a Rambo handy pad which is cotton, and has no tabs at all.
It doesn't slip, only thing it does is the bottom moves back slightly when I do fast work but it doesn't disapear under the saddle. It was only about £20

I've got some great square cotton pads with just little tabs that came with my horse but I have never seen them in the shops, can't remember what make they are either, I will look when I get home!!

I use ordinary saddle cloths. The numnah fastening attaches around my stirrup leather under the skirt. The half pad attaches to the D ring along with the breastplate.

I've got the Albion Ultima Kontact single flap, and I have to say I love it

But anyway, numnahs.
ATM, Pete's using it w/out a numnah, and I'm cleaning it with gusto everytime it's removed. However, I do have a small white square which sometimes goes under it, however PC being PC said i couldn't use it as it sits too low on his withers.
I've got a mattes half numnah platinum which goes under it nicely, and doesn't move even without attatching the tabs. I find a normal numnah under it as long as it has girth loops [the bits at the bottom =) ] you don't need tabs at the top

I use poly pads under mine with a prolite pad for home and competing. Apart from SJing were I use a poly pad and a half pad and the tabs on that just get folded back under the saddle and non of them slip.

I do want the new Nuumed close contact saddle cloth though! Cant justify £55 on a saddlecloth yet though when I need new work clothes and new comp breeches as mine have split!!
