I've had 3 saddle company saddles (on 3 different Horses) and have always found them good. Currently have an event one. In the last few months I've found it sliding to the sides quite a bit. Had a (saddle co) fitter out and she put some more flocking in the front as it had dropped quite a bit but she did say if this didn't help it may need to go back to Walsall for a full re-flock. It fits him perfectly other than that - it was made to template.
I have been contemplating getting another saddle but was thinking today maybe I should try the full re-flock. My worry is that if it doesn't work it's a bit of a waste. It doesn't go to one side, it goes to either side but not a whole lot (as in it doesn't go way over!). His back has been checked and his muscles are even. Has anyone else had this problem with them?

Hi yes she does have a templating machine. The fit wasn't too wide though, we checked it both mounted and unmounted. I think it's more a case that the flocking at the front has compacted down a lot. To be fair it's 2 years old so you would expect that due to the serge.

I would expect a total reflock if the saddle is regularly ridden in after about 12 mths to be honest. The flocking is not the standard white one it is grey and is much softer therefore compresses a lot more. This helps the serge mould to the horses back.

I would get the fitter to take a template and send the saddle back to the factory and get them to reflock it your horses shape. It costs something like £40+vat so much cheaper than buying a new saddle (even with the postage).

I used to get one of mine fully reflocked after 6 mths as pony was roly poly and I was riding him every day including 4 hour hacks on the weekend. That saddle got a lot of use!
