Saddle company saddle Vs Thorowgood T8 -much difference?

I prefer the saddle company saddle we bought for my daughters pony over both his and my horses old Thorowgoods by far.
I had a T6 and she had a T4 but I always used to feel a bit tipped forward and insecure in them, however a saddler has since told me that that problem is common and solved by going up a size seat- so mine was 17" but I'd have been better in a 17.5 with that particular saddle (I'm fine in any other being only 5'4 tops). Obviously this is only an option if your horse can take a larger seat which mine couldn't.

Interesting what you say about the bigger seat. I am selling an 18" TG T8 and normally she takes a 17.5". I don't feel like its too big seat wise. Its fitted on my cob. The one thing i do like about it is the seat - its so comfortable!!
Have a native cob saddle for my welsh D now which will be fitted to him next week.
Can't vouch for the saddle company as never had one before

Typical, I need a 17.5" :(

Having ridden in a Tgood (synthetic) and then buying a SC, I can say that they ride very similarly and fit very similarly. Personally, i hated the Tgood jump saddles, felt very insecure, whereas my SC event saddle was brilliant - have had it 15 months and looks fab and still rides well.

Have only just started riding in my instructor's Albion instead as she kept complaining that my SC didn't fit my upper legs well and it compromised my leg position when jumping, and whilst my legs are more secure in the Albion, I find the narrow twist very uncomfortable, especially compared to the SC!

I also think the SC saddles look a bit smarter too, and last better, having seen a few. Whilst if I wanted a quickly adjustable gp saddle for a youngster, I'd go Tgood, once I was ready for a nicer saddle I'd go SC, get an event and dressage, and get the memory foam injected seats. Lovely.
