Saddle Damage?

When cleaning my tack I lifted up the girth straps and right at the very top behind them (towards the back) was a very small split in the leather so I could see the padding. I'm not sure what to do about this? Could this split mean the saddle is causing my horse discomfort? He hasn't shown any signs of pain but I just wondered if this is a problem that needs sorting immediately or is superficial?

It sounds like the hole they put extra flocking in when restuffing your saddle - mine has one too.
