I have had a new saddle fitted recently for my horse(may).
I have been having a few issues of late with my 4yr old. He has taken to chucking the odd buck in when I am either going up or coming down the hill never on the flat.
Not sure whether he is feeling on his toes a bit and just trying it on or is it the flies ?
The sage of the yard has said no way does my saddle fit because when the boy sweats it doesn't leave an even outline of the saddle.
I will be getting it checked regardless - I can make that decision myself but is there any truth in her comment ?

I think she may be, i have also heard that if the sweat pattern is uneven then the saddle is sitting with uneven pressure. Maybe saddler needs to come out and have another look or get a second opinion if your not happy.

Poor you, I think it may be the saddle as I was talking to a saddler about one for my boy who is 3 1/4 and he said he will be changing shape loads until he's about 6 so as far as saddles go he may need it altering every month... :/

In a strange way I hope it is the saddle that is causing the issues. At least that is easy to deal with.I knew this saddle would need altering but wasn't expecting it to be so soon.
Oh well I will see what the man says when I get him to come out.

My mate had 2 very expensive saddles fitted and neither in my mind fitted, but she trusted her saddle fitter and wasn't untill the horse bucked her off that she got a different fitter out who was shocked at the fit. She was advised to go back to saddle fitter and complain which she did but as it was 5 weeks later she was told the horses had changed shape. Left with 2 expensive saddles to sell on. So I would get the fitter out asap and view your worries. If it's a flocking saddle it could be that the flocking has settled and needs re doing
