Over the next few months I will be starting to back my rising 4 year old (aaaah!) I’ve been kindly offered to buy this saddle - I haven’t managed to get a saddle fitter out yet (due to Christmas and new year) so thought I’d ask you all what you think first
:-)!

Thank you!

Ps. She did have a girth on but I erased it from the photo because its pink, so took away from the beauty of the saddle, and yes she is tied up with a halter and not a head collar as it was an impromptu ‘let’s see if this saddle fits’ with the saddle owner after I had schooled her, I am very aware of the risks (she’s very used to wearing saddles, she has a synthetic breaking one) - so please just opinions on her saddle and it’s fit - please be nice :-)!

Hi, unfortunately it is really hard to comment on the fit from this pic, perhaps remove the saddle cloth and take more photos? Has your trainer had a chance to look at this saddle on your mare?

I realise you asked for comments on saddle fit but that's only a piece in a jigsaw, what stage is her training at? She looks a lovely little girl , but rather immature and perhaps not quite ready to be ridden away?

Personally I'd keep buying a saddle until she had developed a bit more so your money will not be wasted, it is very hard when you are keen to get a young horse going but patience will bring huge benefits.

Good luck with her.
