I have been given the contact number of a saddler in essex (maldon/chelmsford area) called Tom (forgot to get surname) and was just wondering what people views on him were?

Sammiea - I have got my Fusion - It is amazingly good quality - lovely leather! and built perfectly to spec - I was seriously impressed - the final bill certainly wasn't horrific either! - Position is brilliant in it - I spoke to Susan yesterday shes thrilled that im thrilled and I have to say I think its the nicest saddle I have ever had or even sat on - my trainer (4* event rider) is now kicking herself for having spent crazy amount on a devoucoux...

Just a thought!

I have been recommended him in the past. Recently had David from Frogpool out who said nice things about him (Tom used to work with him)

I think I will have him in the future (expensive to keep paying call out for Frogpool!)

I so want one of those - which one did you get? (sorry to hijack post).

On a saddler note - Frogpool people though Fusion saddles were good too!

Direct from them - Susan White (Ms Fusion Saddles - its her company) comes out sizes you up and horse and has them made in France to spec. Shes got a website - google fusion saddles. Ive got the Oynx Pro. DEVINE!!!!

Fusion Saddles is very local to me (5min) but i'm not in a position to buy a new saddle yet, need to sell my 5yo 1st

I know - I have seen there stand a few times and when I (finally!) get a Jump saddle they are who I want - that's the one I want to get.

Did you get it with flocking or gel foam?

Flocking - I tried the gel foam but its not so easy to alter should horse change shape - though it was lighter than the flocking you were must closer to the horse as well which is great as just a comp saddle but my jump saddle is also my "everyday" saddle so for sake of horses back I went with flocking.
It was made Extra Fwd cut for my legs as I ride short and in a 17 in to accomodate my short coupled horse (previous saddlers just insist on a 17/5 on him so I fit on it) Susan was really open to ideas and easy to talk to without any standard "saddle fitters/sellers" jargon. I was allowed to try the finished product before I parted with any money too!!
Its a very flat seated saddle which suits me - I loathe being bucketed in so to speak!

Yeah think I will go with flocking as my horse is a b*gger for changing weight/shape in winter.

Am very jealous - think I will def. go to them when I can get my saddle
