I purchased a new saddle back in February for my boy who was just coming back into work after quite a few months off. I asked around the yard for recommendations and plumped for one that sounded ok, lets call them Fitter A. To be honest, it didnt sound as though many people had their saddles professionally fitted so didnt have a lot to go on. Saddle arrived, had it fitted and tried it out with Fitter A watching. The boy was like a different horse and seemed well happy with his new kit.
The boy started having bilateral hind lameness about 3 months ago and one of the first things I had checked was his saddle as he had changed scape, even if just a little. It needed a slight adjustment which was carried out and Fitter A seemed happy enough and didnt think it would be contributing to his lameness (this was 2 months ago)
Last night we had a different saddle fitter (Fitter B) out who was bitching about the workmanship of Fitter A, therefore I asked Fitter B to check my saddle. Fitter B basically said the gullet is to wide and needs more flocking added as it is not sitting correctly. I am now confused as hell as I know the boy has not changed shape in the last 2 months and have completely contradicting advice from fitters.
Now to get to the point. Could people please provide either recommendations or advise on who to avoid for saddle fitters in Shropshire. This way I can get an idea of how well respected Fitter A and Fitter B really are. And whether I now need to involve a highly recommended Fitter 3. If you feel better then please pm me for the warnings on who to avoid
Has anyone actually follow this ramble lol
Thanks
