saddle fitters Cumbria / Lancs?

hi all,

can anyone recommend a reliable saddle fitter, preferably in Cumbria (though I don't think I'll have much luck here) or Lancashire or the North East?

I have Janet @ just saddles on my list and Hilary Cox of elite saddles, though not sure if they will come this far up (20 mins from Kendal in Cumbria). I would like the choice of new or second hand as I don't want to have to pay the earth.

Hilary works in conjunction with Saddles Direct.
They can see you at Saddles Direct place, any chance you can bring your horse down to them?

It's a bit far to take both of them.....my older horse would be ok, but the last time my filly (3 yr old) travelledm she didn't do so well, so we want to keep her to short journeys until she has settled again.

I might give them a call and see what they say.

Do Todds of Kendal not saddle fit? The only one I definately know of in Cumbria is Pam Slack at Penrith.

I might be miles out but when we lived in Lancashire we used Nigel at Oakfield Saddlery Preston- highly recommended.

I eventually bought the saddle I have at present from Pam at Slacks and though she is very helpful, I wouldn't say the saddle was 'fitted' if you catch my drift.

I know Todds do provide a saddle service, but I'm looking for a professional fitter.
