Hi, Can anyone recommend a saddle fitter in Lancashire?

I've tried Janet Blackburn, but I'm out of the area she covers, and I have no transport to travel to her.

I also emailed another lady, but have received no reply, and I don't have any contact number for her.

Would prefer to go off recommendations rather than a list on the SMS site :)

Thanks

Good ones are thin on the ground round here!

I use David at Village saddlery, most definitely the best in the area, but be prepared to wait for him, he is very busy.

Does he travel to you? If so, whereabouts are you? (Hope you don't think i'm being rude, it's just a lot won't travel to me :p )

I think he is dreadful!

He does travel, charges about £70 to come out and make templates, and only bothers to come back if you are spending thousands on a saddle. (fawned all over our richer liveries both of whom had a budget of £2k, but never got back to me when I said I had a budget of £500!)

haha really?! well my budget was around 1500... so maybe that's why I thought he was good!!

I use Gaynor from Horse Hound and Rider in Ashton-u-Lyne (who has a huge collection of second hand saddles or another lady, whose name escapes me!

Thanks. I'll try her. I just want my current saddle reflocked, or if it really doesn't fit then I have a low budget :o

I was going to recommend Janet Blackburn

Its hardwork trying to find a saddler round here, I struggle to find contact details for them! Good luck OP :)

Another vote for David at Village Saddlery, I spent just over £1000 on a saddle, and he couldn't have been more helpful.

I also arranged for him to come back and reflock a year later, which he was happy to do.

I'm between Wigan and Preston if that helps.

Another vote for David, and to be honest he has fitted a £500 saddle for me, and made me a made to measure dressage saddle fr me for £1200. Actually he made 2 as the seat wasn't right!

I have never had a problem, but be prepared to wait, he has in the past gone out of his way to help me.
