Saddle fitters North East/Scotch corner way

Hello,
I am looking or a saddle fitter in this area.
I have tried Jobsons of Alnwick which has been suggested before and he didn't reallly want to come this far down, even though he was very helpful! Also ahd trouble getting hold of Sayer of Yarm.
Anyone else?
 
John Dunn from Northumbrian saddlery at Hexham (he lives closer to Newcastle so may do the trip) and there's a really nice bloke in Leadgate near Consett (sorry cant remember name) came out to fit a friends horse and changed my gullet in my yougsters synthetic when he saw me standing there with a screwdriver and puzzled expression.

Another recommendtion for John @ Northumbrian Saddlery, it's worth giving him a call as I'm sure if he won't travel he'll be able to recommend someone closer
 
I second John from Hexham, i have bought two saddles off him in the last two years and fitted to my horse and pony. He is very genuine
 
John from Hexham is a really decent bloke but it he is master saddler rather than a saddle fitter. (went to double check on website but work computer won't let me on the society of master saddlers webiste).

Try Andy Wheals (google the saddle man) He covers most of the north east and is really very very good. He travels up from down south so should be able to come your way.

I also use Cicely Thorne from the National Saddle Centre. She is based in the borders but not sure how far she travels. (I'm based near between Hexham and Newcastle and she travels to mine).
 
I would also recommend trying Andy Wheals. I know a lot of people really rate him, although you may have to wait slightly longer to see him as I think he's only up this way a day or two each week.

I have been tlking to people round here and it seems that I am asking the impossible!
Do you know if these people fit second hand saddles?
 
Andy doesn't fit second hand.

If you already have the saddle he will fit/adjust/check that but he doesn't deal in saddles.

If i was you i would get John out as he deals with second hand saddles and then book a slot with Andy to get him to double check the saddle.

In the past i have booked a slot with Andy and then had a got a few saddles from Saddles Direct to try. Andy had a look and fitted them.

Qualified Saddle fitters dealing in second hand saddles don't really exist up here!
