Hi
Just wondered if anyone could please recommend me a saddle fitter based in South Wales.
I need someone to come to my yard as my horse isnt happy travelling yet.

Personally I would never use either again! Huw is a nightmare and you will wait AGES for anything, and Llwyon is awful! I use Maurice from Colne saddlery hes based in Cheltenham but will travel and is brilliant, my trainer uses him and if theres a few of you at the yard he doesnt charge alot for expenses or if your buying a saddle then he will come out for free.
 
Clive Whereatt, he's based in Chipping Sodbury but I've had him out to Cardiff and the call out was very reasonable considering. He was ace, I've had a lot of issues with saddles for my pony, but Clive Whereatt was able to sort them out and he saved me a great deal of money when I thought I was going to have to splash out on another saddle. Couldn't recommend him highly enough. :)
 
I used Huw before, 7 week wait with no riding whilst my saddle was on order, no offer of a saddle to borrow & I had to chase like hell. Still got to use him tho as only one local to me :-(

Thanks so much for the suggestions. To make it more difficult, its a dressage saddle I need, so I may have to look at some of the further away suggestions. My current dressage saddle is completely wrong on my youngster so I am selling it and want to buy something more suitable.
Could I buy an off the peg dressage saddle that I like and get it fitted to my horse? I have heard a few bad things about Huw recently, but phoned him to see what dressage saddles he has in stock, but he doesnt have anything!

I agree with Ellie_e, I have also used both these two, infact i'm still waiting for a saddle from the one 4months later!

Thank you for the Cheltenham advice, I am going to ring and try them as I am having a nightmare finding a saddle (or rather someone to fit one properly) to my new tb horse.
 
You can buy off the peg- I did, then had a saddle fitter out who told me it was completly the wrong shape for the horse, ended up sending it back and buying an Albion-which I love. What dressage saddle are you looking for? I have one for sale, if your interested PM as not supposed to advertise on here ;)
 
Peanuts Mum- Maurice is very good he also has his son/son in law (not too sure which) Rob working with him, ive never met Rob but he is supposed to be just as good. Were having Maurice out in the new year if you can wait will be happy to share call out

Just called colne- £100 call out to Cardiff so he would prefer a few people.peanuts mum- fancy coordinating a visit if you are south Wales too?

Peanuts mum- I thought I did! :) will see you at club no doubt?! Frankie 10 havent had PM through yet... We will be buying a saddle so should be cheaper ( just need to sell the other saddle now)

Just phoned Joanathan- thanks both! No dressage saddles in stock but was very helpful.
South Wales is not a good area for saddle fitting at all!!
