Really want to become a saddle fitter (i'm 23), anyone got any idea how. Looked on Master saddlers web site etc and am currently doing a foundation course rum by the saddle co. but was wondering if anyone on here is one or knows how to become one. I'm in worcestershire. Wouldn't mid just been a saddle fitter and not a maker etc. My local saddler is a master saddler but just fits and has someone she takes them to to be worked on. Any idea if there is a distance learning course? Maybe study weeks on site then work at home. Can't afford to go to college full time or to do an appreniship (three horses to pay for). Plus moving away is not an option. thanks for the help

I beleive you have to train/ work alonside a qualified saddle fitter for 4 years before you are approved?

I don't think there is any distance learning packages about, it is a very hands on type of business. There are a couple of links here that may be of help. I think you will have to tie up a few years of your time to achieve your goal.
