AGAGE
Well-Known Member
I decided to lunge my boy in his saddle without numnah etc. as believe saddle (spalding dressage) may be causing pain and I wanted to see what the saddle was doing. I was really surprised to see that in trot it was bouncing up and down on top of his back- (the cantle end, was rising up and down a couple of inches, with trot movement). My horse didn't appear to be bothered at all, which was surprising.
Has anybody else encountered this problem before?
Why might it be happening .i.e too wide fit?
When standing still and walking the saddle looks to fit alright. It previously used to fit well, however it was fitted 3 years ago and he has most probably changed shape, he is now much more sway backed and less muscled.
I will be calling out a saddler to check the fitting and will probably need to px for another.
How much should I expect to pay for a saddle fitting?
Obviously travel cost etc will need to be taken into account. Last time my parents paid and can't remember how much.
Thanks
