How much do your saddles sink once you are on board?

If you saddle has the standard 3-4 fingers between wither and pommel prior to getting on, how many fingers when on board?

Just curious as to whether my 3 are normal, whatever that may be

Mine sinks a little bit but still gives good wither clearance. Don't think it should move very much as this would probably make it tight lower down the shoulder.

It depends on so many factors. As long as the tree is the right width, the panel is deep enough to give some clearance (one finger clearance can be enough if the saddle is laterally stable in some cases) and the saddle is in balance once it has settled, then it may well be fine.
