Hi everyone, just wondered what people thought about the Bates Caprilli All Purpose GP Saddle for a 4 yr old seeing as he is going to change shape i would like to get him a saddle that can change if he does..but i'm not that fond on synthetic ones and would prefer a leather hence the bates saddle..what does everyone else use on their 4 yr olds thanks for any advice in advance x

with my boy, i got a 2nd hand leather saddle, that fitted, but didnt break the back price wise, so then changing it in the future wouldnt be a problem

maybe get the saddler out, so you can try a few 2nd hand ones

WE got a new saddle for our 4 year old today!
had him fitted and he's a welsh sec D (so has quite showy paces) and all the synthetic (Wintec changey shapey) ones really restricted his shoulders he just rode really badly in them felt really uncomfortable.
we got a 2nd hand Leather one, was cheap and also the leather ones really keep their value better than synthetic ones so its not a problem if we do need to sell it.

I had a collegiate saddle.. Its leather with a changeable gullet and I think it comes in different cuts too. Maybe google them and see what you think.
Hope this helps!

I have an Isobel Dressage saddle and a Wintec GP for mine. Although have beeb looking around for a leather one and have decided on from these people. http://www.fusionsaddles.com/
They had a stand at hickstead and I fell in love with them. They were fab thought and advised me to wait till next year when she is five and a bit more filled out before I go ordering one.
