Pony is 14'1, he came & had very little muscle & a bit of a dipped back from muscle wastage, was fitted with a 16.5 inch medium wintec, he put muscle on very quickly & saddle began to tilt forth after 3 months. He was then fitted a 16.5 medium thorowgood pony club but the older Griffin type rather than the new version.

Saddle fitter is booked for end of the month but his current saddle seems to be sloping down from his withers to the back rather than sitting evenly. Saddle fitter did say she didn't think the thorowgood would be his last saddle as he's still changing shape. Of course she may be ale to do something with the saddle but I'm just having a look round at my options. Obviously other problem is he's short backed so can't have a saddle that's too long.

This is him so you can see we don't have much back to play with.

I have a pony with the same issues. He's got a Kent and masters gp. I have used both medium and medium wide gullets as his weight changes. Currently he's using the mw 'cos he's a bit porky.

I'm also thinking of looking at the new thorowgood pony club as think its a different shape to the griffin.

I have one of these...highland...flat backed, small wither- quite short coupled.

The 16.5 sits nicely- the seat is big enough for my ass but I have the short-flapped one for my daughters legs.

I like it.

I also have the T4 cob adjustable for my arab...he has a small wither, is round/broad and flat backed.
He's in an XW fitting...not because he's porky I may add, but thats his broad shape:)

I have a short backed 13.3 haflinger with some wither and recently had him fitted with a Kent and masters pony 16.5". Has gone down from m/w to med gullet. Ideal thing is it has possibility to change gullets and adjust flocking.
