I posted earlier about the HM Fhoenix saddle but I'm not completely convinced.

I'm still considering it though and will see if I can "borrow" or trial one to see if it will work for us.

The other saddles that seem to be made to fit high withers is Kent & Master High Wither GP and the Thorowgood High Wither.

Any recommendations?

(Unfortunately there isn;t a saddler near me that will bring secondhand saddles to try/fit so will be buying then getting a fitter out, but would be good to start with a saddle that is more likely to fit)

Do you have a saddler that you could email pictures to so that they can give you an idea? That's what I've done just recently.

Or get one of the saddlers out that brings new saddles - at least then you can try the saddles on. You are not committed to buy just because you call a saddler out

I bought the Thorowgood High-wither for my elderly TB and I loved it!
I bought the thorowgood as it was also recommended for older horses with muscle wastage and as he was 20, this seemed ideal.
It's was veryy comfortable and he moved really nicely in it, and I didn't have to use any type of pad or riser ect.

I also have a high withered thorowgood for my TB who lacks top line and he moves much better in it. They're economically priced and I find it comfy for hacking and day to day use and local shows :)
