Hi I need some help from you lovely people!

I'm hoping to start riding my pony in the not to distance future but not sure what saddle to get him. I was thinking of getting either a treeless or wintec saddle with an adjustable gullet (hangs head in shame!) as his weight fluctuates a lot.

I've ridden in the Barefoot Cheyenne and loved it. But i'd like to do some jumping and xc so i'm not sure if they will be suited to this? I've had a look at the Barefoot Cherokee Classic and the Torsion Deluxe as they have a bigger knee roll. I've also noticed that Torsion do the Dream saddle now and that might be a contender too. Or should I just get a wintec??? (I know it's crazy i'm thinking of getting a synthetic saddle!)

If anyone has any of theses saddles, any opinions on these saddles or would like to give me any suggestions that would be great to help me make my mind up. I'm very indecisive!

Thanks.

Jude

Wintec's aren't the only adjustable saddle avaible ;) They're just the worst.

There are so many styles of treeless avalible that you need to decide what you want. Some (generally the more expensive ones) are suitable for lots of jumping and fast work.

Or there's quite a few good quality adjustable saddles availble. Thorowgood/Kent and Master are often a very good fit on most horses. Saddle company's are decent saddles. Ideals saddles can be adjusted for width too (as can quite a few other brands). Which one depends on your horses back shape. And if it's flat and wide then it won't be a wintec!

Thanks for your replies. He does have a flat back so Wintec may be out. I did think of a Thorowgood. I've not really heard of the Kent and Master's saddles so thanks for the heads up on that! I'll have a look at there site.

More decisions to make now!

Jude
