Hi
I am not sure if this is the right place to be writing this
as i am new to this.
but i have a 15'2 coloured cob gelding
who is a lovely boy and we do a little bit of every thing with
hacking showing jumping schooling and so on
but when i brought him in feb this year i was told the saddle he
came with was a fine fit, stupid me did not check and toke the
last owners word for it, well i was wrong, as the back lady has come out and told me the saddle does not fit my little boy and we are in bad need of a new one, he is very wide in fact he is so wide he does not fit in wintecs
i really need a saddle for him and so not really want to go tree less as they do not look very nice and i have ridden in one before and did not really like it my self if any one could help me fit and find a saddle for my lad i would be very greatful
Thanks
PS i do not want to be spending an arm and a leg for it really

Unfortunately a correctly fitting saddle is not something which can be a compromise! I think that Thorrowgood do a wide saddle specifically for cobs which sounds like what you may need. I would try and find a saddler who stocks these saddles. The other alternative would be to keep an eye on ebay and then have a saddler fit it to your horse. Good luck!

Where do you live? I have always got a local master saddler to come out to me with second hand saddles and fit one. I can't afford a new made to measure saddle but would only trust a master saddler as some 'saddle fitters' have only been on a one day course on how to fit saddles! Have never had any problems and me and horses very happy. They might also be able to sell your current saddle for you.

Sadly I Live On The Isle Of Man [small island between England and Ireland]
As far as i know we have no master saddler and i am unsure what to do about it as we have a couple of "saddler fitters" but they often have mixed responses on how good they are and i do not want him to have another bad saddle
