My new horse has been here a week. During this time I've tried on about 8 saddles and am so far stuggling. When I find a saddle that seems to fit well, I look where the girth straps are & if I fastened a girth it would be at quite an angle as the straps are much further back than his girth groove. Any ideas what saddles I could try or how I could solve this problem? Thanks for your help

NB I want a saddle that fits OK to get going on him & then I'll organise a saddle fitter to check & adjust as needed. I'm just not keen on the idea of a saddle fitting being the first time I ride him!

What about a saddle with a point strap fitted? I had a point AND a balance strap added to my saddle to help it stop creeping forward because of the forward girth groove. Or what about a shaped girth?
