Saddle Hunting....

Desperate for a saddle for my new horse, but having trawled the internet, local ads etc. I can't find what I want.

MUST BE:
Black, 17 inch and medium, jumping/ event/ close contact saddle. Must be leather.
Can't afford a new one- must be sensibly priced!

Any ideas? Looked on ebay and preloved, but couldn't find anything. Help! :o

p.s hope this is not considered an ad, its just like the horse hunting threads, except its a saddle me wants ;)
 
Not sure where u are based, but when I was looking I came across firecracker saddlery. They are based in Melton, will let u try before you buy. They seem to have a lot of jumping type saddles. (I am not connected to them in any way and unfortunately am still looking for a saddle myself- had to spend the money on a house emergency! )
 
Nothing on saddles direct and I find it expensive. Brand wise- avoiding Stubben if possible. When I tried him I think I rode in a prestige but they cost ££££ new. At the moment I am using a Pessoa which fits my other horse fine, but not this one (fits ok when padded up, maybe a smidgen too wide, although it is a medium). Dressage saddle wise my other horse's dressage saddle is a nice fit. weird. Have a professional saddler coming out soon, but I would rather pay for reflocking/ adjustment or sell the saddle on if it doesn't fit, as the saddler's saddle are very expensive! At the moment I have had 3/4 horses sharing a saddle, so if it doesn't fit this horse is will probably fit another!
 
My pessoa has foam panels, which I love, however strangely I don't think it fits that horse that well, its ok I suppose however it is brown and my other horse needs it!

Must be black, as horse is black, and I know I am being a bit fussy but I don't like brown tack on a black horse. I think it looks a bit stupid. Also if you are paying hundreds of pounds I think wanting a black saddle shouldn't be too hard, its not like its unusual! like tobacco coloured or something!

Aahh thanks! Found one on TDS, little pricey for what it is.
Some beautiful saddles on Horsequest.

17.5 inch saddles seem more common. Problem is this horse, although big is quite short backed, and I am only 5'3 and quite small (short legs :( ). No go?
 
I have a perfect candidate - a 17" Ideal Impala monoflap jump saddle, excellent condition! Medium width.
Oh, just seen the 'must be black' posts :( it is dark havana :(

have alook at ref no: 61117 on horsequest. I have the same make saddle and love it. it's a medium wide? but you might be able to get it fitted.
I have nothing to do with the sale of this saddle . . Good luck on your search
 
I've got a 17" black Barnsby Milton seeking a new home.... ex demo model hardly used, so pretty much as new condition...
