My boy is hollow behind the withers (muscle damage/wastage/atrophy?), and his saddle is very 'snug' in this area. I use a thick high withered numnah, and he is great as it does not seem to be an issue with him, but I am keen to build his muscle back up and I'm worried that the saddle is preventing this. What are peep's thought on this please? I've tried a normal Pro LIte bad but this just made the saddle unbalanced at the rear....is the Tri pad worth a go or am I just avoiding the spend on a better saddle??

I would get a saddle fitter out to make the saddle fit him for his current shape. Pads don't really help if the saddle is ill fitting. Hope it all works out

Get a saddler out and don't guess is my humble opinion. Snug could be snug because it is sat too low or too narrow, I wouldn't be messing around without a professional opinion (the opinion needn't always be a new saddle but the right kind of 'padding' to allow the muscle growth).
