i bought a second hand saddle off my friend for £50. it is a really good saddle but only the saddle was included not the girth or anything so i bought everything else new. anyway when i tighten up the girth the leathers on the saddle which the girth goes through are snapping, i mean the holes that have been used the most are really wearing away. can you get them replaced or do i need a new saddle. sorry if it doesnt make sense. but i really need help because if it snaps then i could get seriously hurt. THANKYOU!

Yes you can get them replaced by a saddler :) If it is just the girth straps themselves then it is not terribly expensive.

thankyou very much, yes it is just the girth straps that attach to the saddle. i was getting quite worried as we cant afford a new saddle at the moment because we have just moved house

They are called girth billets and you can get them replaced by a saddler. It's a good idea to ask the saddler to check the saddle over too, as it's second hand and it was cheap, just in case there's anything wrong with it e.g. damaged tree.

thanks i didnt know what they were called. she was selling the saddle for £200 but she got another cheap saddle so wanted rid of it and since i was her friend ( we are really close) she said she would give me it for £50
