Ok so after mare having outgrown other saddle, i posted about being told to pad out my other saddle that was a little to wide....

Today i tried it, and she tossed her head, refused to go forward, walked backwards and was generally a BUGGER!

Someone has said Bit evasion, but im more thinking along the lines of saddle not being right (again.....)

Thoughts....

Saddle probably not right now, putting pressure on and/or pinching.

You need a saddler out to fit one.

If I get on Dizz with a saddle that isn't just right, i.e. saddle changing time, she lets me know in no uncertain terms that it isn't right!

my saddle is coming nxt week. The original saddle i had fitted is now to narrow and my other leather one to wide so i will ask her to adjust that.... She suggest a shires hi lite one until muscle is fully developed but i always thought they are very chunky n a bit rubbish..... Feel free to correct me x

Friend is using a Shires (can't remember which one though) on her ex-racer. Her horses were roughed off over the winter and are just coming back into work, so she got the Shires saddle as a temporary one until the horse has muscled up again. She's ridden in it a few times and says it's surprisingly comfortable :D. Horse seems happy with it :D
