If you were to see a saddle you liked on eBay what would be your max price? If you only had a rough guess on size and fit and had never sat in that make before and have a sensitive horse who has to have the 'right' saddle to cooperate?

I've sold a saddle on ebay. It was a wintec Dressage.. went for £280. I tried to give as much info about it as possible so buyer could make best choice. I don't think i'd go above £300 though especially if I wasn't sure about anything.

Have to say I don't think I would bother in those circumstances, because i think it would be unlikely that it was the best fit.

Are there others on there of a similar ilk, which you can watch and see what price they make? If you know what sort of price they tend to fetch, you could go up to that and be reasonably confident you could sell it on again if it didn't fit. if you could be bothered. I think personally I'd rather try the saddles on.

Edited to say I watched a few saddles on ebay to see the prices they made recently. Most (English leather but good second hand) went for around £80, with only one fetching more at £199. For every saddle which sold, there was an equal number that didn't sell.

The one I like finishes tonight - amerigo vega dressage. Seller *thinks* it's MW and is 8" d ring to d ring. Currently, including p&p is under £500, just.

I paid £900 for a jumping amerigo vega on eBay - However and a big however

I got the serial number from the seller, checked it with zebra products and confirmed what it was, how old it was, and whether it was stolen
