Saddle or back first?

Hi,
So I am going to get my horses back done and a new saddle fitted
but was just wondering which I should have done first?
I was thinking back, so that when the saddler comes if there is any discomfort then we know its from the saddle. Do you think I am right to have his back done first? and if not why?
probably a bit of a silly question but wanted to knowpeoples opinions

That's the order I would go with, for the reasons you have given!

Yep back first - if pony needs treatment then they'll probably tell you to rest him a few days after treatment before riding - just ask their advice

As a saddle fitter I can safely say it iw very hard to fit a saddle to a horse that may be sore, or lame, or both, because it is highly likely they will throw the saddle to one side, and may even use their back totally differently to usual.
