Hi guys,

Some of you may know I bought a saddle on ebay last Thursday as I posted on here asking you to have a quick look and let me know what you thought. I paid immediately after winning the auction. Anyway saddle arrived today. The seller has charged me £16 postage - sounds reasonable right? The postage on the stamp say £11.74.

How would you guys expect a saddle to be packaged for posting? She has literally just put the saddle in an old box and sealed it - no bubble wrap or padding of any sort. She also stated on the auction that it would be posted by Parcel Force 24 - it has been sent by Royal Mail (a cheaper option?).

So what I'm saying really is I now have to give feedback but don't know what to say - positive/neutral/negative? and do I comment on the fact that it wasn't packaged very well (or I don't think it was) and was sent by a different Mail service than stated?

I have 100% positive feedback and don't want her to ruin that - also the seller has 100% positive feedback too.

Sorry for the ramble but your thoughts please!?

Chocolate chip cookies and Lemonade for reading!

If the goods arrived in the expected condition I don't see what you have to complain about.

You can always give her less than 5 * for the postage price, did she pay the insurance, that might have bumped the price up over the stamp price? I always add a couple of pounds on to the postage because I have to print out labels and make a 8 mile round trip to the post office.

I probably would have bubble wrapped it or put some of those polestyrene (sp) sqiggles in the box.

I'm not really complaining I'm just not sure what the protocol is tbh! All I know is that I would have done what you said and bubble wrapped it or the polystyrene thingys. It's not damaged as far as I can tell but it's also useful to know for if it doesn't fit my horse and I have to sell it on!

Thanks
xx

When I posted a saddle, I went crazy with bubble wrap, and then padded out all the gaps in the box with tonnes of scrunched up newspaper, so there was no way the saddle would move.
I'm suprised it cost so little to post, because when I'd finished the box was so heavy it cost me twice that in postage.

Anyway, I suppose if your saddle arrived in good condition, and isn't scratched or damaged then it's probably not worth worrying about, but if it was scratched then I would say you could have the seller for not packaging it adequately.
