Saddle Pad and Numnah keeps slipping back

I can't for whatever reason keep my numnah in place, its slips back under the saddle all the time, out hunting or out hacking, especially if I jump or go over a ditch/bank.

I have tried three different brands now with/without a saddle pad etc. but nothing works, it just disappears under the saddle.

Any suggestions?

Do you not secure it to the saddle to stop it slipping?

Although if it is really that bad I might question that the saddle doesn't fit properly.

Would agree. Girl on the yard has this problem chronically and I know the saddle is bridging

One make of saddle pad just doesn’t work with my saddle but others makes are fine. If it’s happening with different saddle pads then definitely look at saddle fit.

It may not show up as the saddle actually moving forwards, but it wants to, if you know what I mean.

Likely time for a saddle check.

Saddle check I think unless its the Le Mieux shiny loire ones as they do tend to slip a bit!

My old horses did this and the saddle was a bit too wide. Everything under it tried to disappear out the back.
The horse was adamant that he liked his saddles little wide though so not a lot we could do about it.
Saddler commented how much happier he was with it!
So I’m not saying it’s fine! Just that it probably does mean your saddle is in need of a check
