Saddle pad / numnah for wide, short back?

Mini cob is currently using cast-off saddle pads from the big horses. I haven’t got around to buying him his own as I don’t think he’ll be easy to find one for. (He’s rather wide, with a short back). The full size LeMieux dressage pads fit fine depth wise, but are too long. It’s the same with a Poly Pads shaped numnah (also in full).

How much difference in depth is there between the pony and full LeMieux pads? Can anyone recommend a brand that might work?
 
There are measurements listed when one Googles "LeMieux saddle pad sizing" because one (me) has Googled in many a time.

Mostly because I know LeMieux fits mine so I use it as a comparison when shopping for other brands. I have a short backed horse and many are too long for him (Anky, Woof Wear, PS of Sweden, Equestrian Stockholm, Eskadron is borderline).

However, LeMieux have S/M, PSoS and ES have cob, and Eskadron has PD/pony dressage so there are options for dressage pads. Sometimes I get stuck in the middile of one being too larger while the next size down is too small in some way. So I've spent a fair amount of time with various size charts pulled up :p
 
The pad size is more about the saddle than the horse, though obviously you don't want to go too long on something like a very croup high horse. I recommend Mattes numnahs, their Eurofit cut is brilliant for short backs while not having to worry about how wide the seat is (sometimes numnahs aren't wide enough for very wide seats), the cob size works for even some 17.5, and there are good measurements on their site. Not known for rubbing like LeMieux are, and fully custom colour options.
 
Sit your saddle on the pad on a saddle stand, and measure the space it takes up on the pad, allowing at least 2cm leeway all round. The topline measurement is the most important but the flap cut affects that, too straight a cut at the front means you have to sit the saddle back and need a longer topline, for example. Also if you order a pad with sheepskin trim on the topline, front and/or back, it will mean the space for the saddle is shorter as I don't know of a brand that sizes by the space available, it's the measurement of the original cotton pad before the sheepskin is added.
 
Poly pads do a numnah would that maybe work or nuumed do a working hunter cut which I have to use on my show saddle as the dressage ones are too long, I have wide short arabs and they seem to work OK for them.
