I finally have a fitting saddle 🥳 *hopefully, been here before twice!

I’ve always used polypad type saddle pads but the fitter has recommended something shaped, attached and we fitted with a thin cotton pad so I want a couple of nice, non expensive but I want ones that sit nicely and stay in place. I need a few I guess to wash and wear.
I see Woof and Weatherbeeta do some quite nice looking ones. I’m a rug obsessive, pads have never been of any interest!

Then girths. Maybe not just yet but now I have my final forever saddle (🤞) I’d quite like a really nice girth.
I have a basic elasticated both sides washable type and a really nice Albion which I’ve never loved and will probably sell.
Fairfax? (Probably second hand)
Le mieux? Prolite maybe?
Horse comfort being priority here.

Thanks 😊

I’ll have the black off you! White I’m just absolutely useless at washing and they end up looking awful 😂
How much would you like?, I’ll message you x

I like the premier equine one, plain close contact pad, no fluff. I won’t buy LeMieux on principle! Really annoyed that my tween daughter demanded a matchy set for Christmas and her godmother bought it!

For girths from what I've heard from people on here and out and about, I reckon the stubben string girths are a good way to go in terms of comfort for the horse, I used to love the fairfax but I'm a bit less convinced now. I'm going to try the wow Free space but that is mega pricey, they look like they'd suit the tb shape though which is why I've been tempted by one.

I know BB has sorted you out with a pad but if you're looking for another, you can't go wrong with a griffin nuumed high wither everyday numnah. They wash like rags and last years. Not loads of colour choice but plain old brown has always suited me.

I asked a while back about girths and the consensus at the time was the professional choice girth. I then started having all the issues with Charlie so never got round to buying it but Wiggy needs a new one now as his Wintec has a couple of little cracks in it. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see if anything has changed in the world of girths!

The two less expensive girths I mostly recommend are the Stubben string and the Dabbs waffle anatomical (for me the elasticated version, it's super strong elastic).

Numnahs/pads - so many are now a similar construction (a thin but firm felt layer in the middle) but I'd still say Mattes are the best.
