Hi

Does anyone have the Wintec VSD saddle at all?

Are these any good?

I am looking for a saddle that will help me improve my leg position but I don't want a dressage saddle as I want to be able to use it for general riding too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've ridden in a VSD and they really are only "very slightly" different to a GP saddle.

I don't think you will notice much help with your leg position, although maybe it was just my legs it didn't work for!
 
Rubbish!! I have one, worst £350 I ever spent. I'd spend the money on getting a decent 2nd hand leather GP if I was you. Does nothing for my position and I can't jump in it at all, despite their claims you can safely jump in them. I also have a Wintec 2000 GP which I'm not keen on. I gave in and bought a dressage saddle, and now on the look out for a jumping saddle.

The Wintec is ok for hacking about in as I don't really want to ride for a couple of hours in a dressage saddle if I'm going to be cantering across fields, but I wouldn't buy one again.
 
I think my problem is that I am crap so I need a saddle (either dressage or jumping) with nice big blocks to anchor me in

Friend has one and hates it with a passion, she also later bought a lovely second hand leather saddle and adores it and it was for less money, she also said it was the worst £300 she'd ever spent.

I think you have rode in 'good saddle' then you'll realise the difference, if not then you'll be none the wiser

I've never tried the Wintec, but I've ridden in GFS and Forester VSD saddles, and I found they did help my position. They're also very comfortable for hacking. You do have to ride with a longer leg because of the way the saddle is cut, so they may not be ideal if you want to jump in them as well.
 
I bought a Wintec 500 VSD a couple of weeks ago for my new horse, it was the saddle that fitted her the best (especially on her shoulder with it being straighter cut) and out of the 6 saddles the saddle fitter brought with her it was the most comfy for me. I mainly go hacking and abit of schooling but I went for a 2 hour hack a day or so after I got the saddle and didnt have a achey bum afterwards (though that might be all the padding I have on my bottom! lol).
