Dam saddle just doesn't seem to fit anymore, it has always slipped forward a little but has gotten worse and worse, last night I felt like I was sitting on her neck. Poor thing was trying so hard but just couldn't get her shoulder up, probably cos I was on it! She hasn't put on weight but we have been doign a lot more collected work and she has muscled up quite a bit, would this perhaps cause the saddle to become too narrow and then perch up and forward? Have called saddler but no reply yet, haven't been happy with it for a while so going to give up and get another. Trying a keiffer and passier of a friends tonight. Any ideas on those two and also what to avoid? Currently have an albion legend which I like apart from the slipping.

have a gilbert grand passier on my XW table top arab and it is as steady as a rock. great improvement from my albion which i had to use a crupper with

How much do you want to spend? I find my Albion SLK Ultima tips me forwards, im always having it adjusted. I only use it on Bloss tho.

I have an Ideal for Archie and its fab, dosent tip me forwards, mega good value (£950ish) and its SO comfy, i prefer it my Albion.

I adore my Kieffer - trouble is what fist one horse can make you tip on another, so I found the only way to do it was to try on every saddle I could lay my hands on and ride in it! Luckily I am on a dressage -orientated yard, god help me if I'd had to do the same to find a jump saddle!

Well I am going to try the kieffer and passier tonight then instructor has something for me to try next week. Only ever sat in wintec isabelle which tipped me forwards and then the albion which I do like to sit in but doesn't seem to suit her. Have ridden in the wilkinson version of the ideal jessica and like it but find the seat a bit wide. Will keep at it though thanks for your comments

Ive got the same Ideal saddle as PG and I love it. Shop around as I got mine for £850. My albion used to slip forward and I spent ages trying to find one to fit, this was the only one that didnt slip forward. If you look on the ideal website they do one similar to the 1650 but with a narrower twist.

Had the Ideal Suzannah for Mac and loved it lovely fit and oh so nice to ride in, instructor thought so to.

No have the Elizabeth for Atty as the Suazannah was just wrong for his little shape.

Thanks Nat that is interesting, it has always slipped a little forward. Had breaching straps put on originally but found they were pulling down the front of the sadlle too much so had them removed about a month ago. Felt great at first and now I think her muscles may have filled out and now its pusing the saddle up and forward but in my heart I am not sure if ever really fitted 100%. Really like the look of the ideal might try get my saddler to bring one out to try.
