This may be a silly question but how long does it take for the white hairs to come thru when you've had a saddle not fitting perfect. Hope im explaining myself clear but the prob is i've noticed my daughters pony is getting white scuff marks on either side of her withers. Her saddle was checked and reflocked a month ago, before this she had no white hairs but am now getting them, could these be caused by saddle not being quite right in the first place or could they be coming through since the saddle has been reflocked. Hope this makes sense. thanks

that kind of depends on how long you were using the saddle before it was adjusted, just a few days? or months?

I think it is more likely that the white hairs are being caused by the way the saddle fits now - maybe it needs looking at again

My pony had white hairs under his saddle last winter. Saddler couldn't find anything wrong with saddle, said it might be numnah rubbing. They fell out when he lost his winter coat.

I would say it is likely to be how the saddle fits now thats the problem.

But like said above it could be what you are putting underneath thats the problem. If you have just had it fitted the best thing to use underneath is either nothing or the thinnest cotton numnah that you can find as thicker ones will alter the fit.
