So I had my saddle checked when i got my horse in september 2010, he is rising 5 this year (birthday in may) so saddle fitter advised 6 month checks. In february i arranged to have saddle checked and he said both saddles still fitted.

Physio out two weeks later commented he was tight behind saddle and asked to see saddles, she thought the jump saddle was slidding too far back and could be causing tight area. Saddler out again and he said they did fit and advised to use breastplate for faster work. Horse has never appeared to be in pain - however has been making faces sometimes when girthed up so i guess is uncomfortable but had loose droppings too this week so not sure if its new grass upsetting his tum?

Yesterday went XC schooling with a breast plate and got off twice to adjust saddle! feel it just isnt sitting where it should - is it too wide? Both saddles are bates so could go down a plate size? Originally saddler said the forward cut flaps on momentum were being pushed back by his shoulders as dressage saddle didnt slip so much. However it is slipping too! He doesnt have a big girth groove as he is a 16hh TB and doesnt carry much weight, ideas on a postcard?? Dont know who to trust or what to do next?

Thanks :)
