New saddle (fitted by fitter, good one) its a thorowgood cob saddle the new one.My last saddle also slipped to the right (and other things long and miserable story). I sit to the right and do do my best to correct the fault but can't seem to eradicate it but have never found it such a problem before. Horse falls in badly to the right .Was o.k to begin with but later on started to happen. He is a little round backed cob and I have never owned one before. Any sugestions.?

Have you tried an anti slip pad

I had this problem a few months ago with both my horses, then I bought a prolite saddle stay pad, they are lightweight, dont affect the fit of your saddle and totally stop them slipping...I actually have one spare now as I sold my mare LOL.

I had this problem with a Wintec cob saddle. I used a Limpet saddle pad to prevent it, but ultimately sold the saddle becaue it wouldn't stay in place.
It may be your saddler needs to reassess

Thorowgood girths are ment to be good to stop saddles slipping. Also if your cob saddle has 4 girth straps then maybe try putting girth on 1st and 3rd straps on the side it slips to, and 1st and 4th straps on the side it slips away from. My saddle was slipping ever so slighly and saddled took a strap off and moved it back and it's helped.

If horse always falling in then will be overdeveloped on one side and under developed on other, saddle may have to be flocked accordingly. Had this with friends horse who had been jousting horse and was incredibly one sided. Saddle was flocked to fit the very crooked horse and then adjusted periodically as horse straightened up.

Well owning Blacks who is a very round cob I have found that using a N.E.W non-slip nummah as stopped his saddle slipping, also ride with a breast plate.
