Just got off the phone to my best mate who only rides occasionally. She has got terribble saddle sores, the discomfort she likens to child birth. Ouch! Joking apart, are there any ladies out there brave enough to share their experiences/remedies/precautoins?

If she doesn't ride frequently advise that next time she wears padded cycling shorts (they look like regular ones but with what appears to be an oversized foam sanitary pad stitched into them) underneath her jods... In the meantime I can only suggest Sudocrem or Bepanthem (both available in the supermarket as treatment for nappy rash).

Hi there,

I'm new but with a bony bum and use a Heather Moffat seatsaver...bliss! But had a problem when riding with my new batch of M and S knickers, found that the front gussett seam was in the wrong place, very sore in a very delicate place, used Kamillosan (for nappy rash) back riding again in 2 days! Good luck!

I suffer from this problem - little boney ass means there isn't much protection! I have a "ladies cc seat" on my wow saddle (no idea what it means!) but it is specifically designed for this issue!

Try sprinkling a load of non-perfumed talc over the gusset of your chosen knickers before you ride. It helps reduce friction!
