just got a new saddle with horsey and have been told by owner it hasnt been stuffed for 2 years.. do i need to get someone out to check it on his back or take the saddle to a saddler. Sorry bit dumb last time i got my saddler out as i wanted to check the fit. it seems to sit ok on him - just a bit worried as hes straight out the field at the mo and worried he will change shape in a month once hes been fed up and fit.so should i do it then instead? also what does it normally cost, how long does it take and wheres good to take it round harpenden luton sta albans? thanks guys

If it seems ok just now then wait till he's a bit fitter then get it done otherwise you'll end up paying out twice. Depending on saddler, it's likely to take up to 14 days for it to be done and be in the region of £50 - £75. Can't help you with where to take it though - we're miles away!

I would get it checked now. My saddler checks and flocks on the spot - about an hour to an hour and a half and normally costs £40, plus diesel costs. If you leave it until he gets fitter you could harm him now.
