Saddle suggestions: high withered, broad shoulders, wide!

I have recently purchased a PBA (cross cob).

I would like another monoflap saddle but I've never had a horse with a high either and broad shoulders before.

Can anyone recommend any brands?

I have an ideal impala for my other horse but it's a medium wide and whilst I'm happy to purchase the same saddle wider for the new one, I don't even know if these are suitable to shapes like his?

Thankyou.

My saddler suggested an Ideal Impala jumping saddle for my cob/ish who has huge shoulders, quite short coupled and a bit of a wither but is pretty wide. So it might work for you!

I would have a look on the master saddlers website and find a master saddle fitter who is based near you. Your best bet is to get one of them out and get your horse fitted for a saddle! Nothing worse than having a saddle which incorrectly fits.

I'd try Llwynon in Brecon - you take the horse to them rather than them coming to you. His bedside manner isn't the greatest but he knows his job. Just nod and smile and let him get on with it. He has a special press that can widen or narrow the tree on saddles (as long as you know its full history and know it hasn't been done before) so he might be able to fit your current one to the new horse.

Both mine are just as you describe and they both have Ideal saddles. They're both Ideal Events rather than Impala but Ideals do seem to fit that sort of horse.

ETA - just realise you're still using your saddle on your other horse so that's not necessarily any good, but he's still a good fitter.

I will say that as a general guide seat length is a BIG factor. If you can push the saddle back a decent amount (4 fingers instead of usual 2-3 behind the shoulder blade) then you have way more options as you're not trying to fit a curvier shape, and you get instant stability and shoulder freedom if all else is correct. If you need every inch of back space it's trickier, some wide saddles have space for a wither, I don't know about the tree shape in the Impala specifically.
