Saddle suggestions needed please!

Hi all, I have an ever growing ID/Welsh D who is 5 in April. He is prone to sudden and massive growth spurts and has just outgrown his 5th saddle over the last year. I need a new saddle for him now, but until I know he's stopped growing I don't want to spend masses if I can avoid it!
So I'm after suggestions as to which make/models any of you with a similar shape horse have found to be good?
He is definitely a wide fit, but he's flattish over the back but not a leg stretcher, if that makes any sense! (my older horse is a medium width but takes up much more leg and a longer girth).
His last saddle was an Ideal Event, medium wide, which fitted for about three months, to give you some idea of what his size is like.
I'm not keen on Wintecs, have liked some Thorogoods, like a deep seat and plenty of knee/thigh roll!
So any suggestions most gratefully received!

My mums was really difficult to fit and she ended up with a Thorowgood T4 cob which has been the best by far also has changeable gullet which might help you until he stops growing.

Thorowgood Cob saddle will prob fit. Standard thorowgood T4/6 prob won't be flat enough. Cob saddle has a fairly flat seat but it's very comfy!

The one my mum has is quite deep certainly not flat I find it quite comfortable not as nice as my two leather ones but I just think leather is softer.

Can you see if a fitter would widen the Ideal to tide you over? If you find a good fitter who will adjust the wooden trees on the saddles they sell then you have a few more options to keep the saddle fitting. I usually say that a saddle will narrow by one size and widen by two, and that there are 3-4 adjustments in a saddle - any more than that can weaken the tree too much. They are of course handmade so every single saddle tree and saddles is different and you need to get it in the tree press and FEEL how much give it has in it. It's an expert job.

I've not yet seen an example of a well fitting TG cob, though I do recommend them as a starting point for fitting a wide horse on a budget, but they can perch on flat backs which means instability. Bear in mind I only get called out when someone is having saddle fit problems!
