Help Please!!!!

Ive just had a saddler out to view my boy as he had become irritable to ride. I currently ride in a kieffer zugspitze set to wide, but had been shown that it needs to be raised at the back by 4.5 inches to make it level.

Can anyone suggest a saddle that I could get 2nd hand (as he is ever growing) that would have a large rear gusset? or at least something that has a very high back? he also is very straight in the back so it cant be a banana tree either.
Current suggestions have been either an ideal jessica dressage with a custom gusset or a thorowgood t4 (altho that hasnt been tested so may still not fit)

I guess im hoping for the back end to catch up, but then that means another saddle lol

Thanks in advance for your input x

You could try a Wintec, they are fully adjustable as are bates saddles, I've used both (currently have a wintec) and the saddle fitter has always been able to adjust them to fit my wide variety of horses.

Well firstly if your saddle needs to be raised by 4.5 inches then it doesn't fit in any way shape or form.

Are you sure it wasn't 4.5cm which would make more sense, but still be on the large side for an adjustment?

Wintecs aren't 'fully adjustable' unfortunatly: they only the width can be changed - the tree shape, panels and balance cannot be adjusted. Sadly many wintec saddle fitters are, to be frank, crap and will fit a wintec to anything

They are TB saddles, designed on and for TB's and rarely fit anything else well.

Ditto CotswoldSJ - if it's 4.5inches too low it doesn't fit. In the slightest

Sounds like it's too narrow to sit that high in front, possibly to clear high withers.

Have a look at Saddle Company saddles. They do a 'normal' tree and a flatter 'cob' tree. The width is also adjustable. They have excellent wither clearance and the serge panels are soft enough, and have a big enough gusset, to be well flocked to lift the back if require. They're also a LOT cheaper than Ideal saddles
