So i was just reading the thread about riding in a bareback pad is not riding bareback etc and i started thinking (i know, dangerous in my case 
) which is actualy better for the horse? Riding bareback or in a saddle? And which do you think the horse finds more comfortable? Also do you think riding bareback has any negative or positive effects on the horses back long term?
I prefer to ride bareback, i actualy feel more secure and safer bareback, i have a sort of saddleless saddle that is actualy competition legal and allows me to compete as close to bareback as possible within the health and safety rules and insurance.
But i just wondered if it has any affects on the horses back and would i be better off having a proper saddle?
