After having some problems a while back and doing the usual I've discovered that the issues with my mare were all saddle related...
But I'm having a nightmare... 2 fitters out now over several weeks trying to find a dressage and/or jumping saddle to no avail!
Thought we'd found it in the brand new bates jumping but two models lifted at the back with a wide gullet in. The model he thought would fit would take 4 months to get in so told me to try someone else.
Got leant a treeless which she hated and I've been riding a borrowed saddle - an ancient GP, so I know nothing physically wrong as will work wonderfully, rhythmically and happy long and low which she didn't previously - tends to rush if worried/pain. Other saddle isnt an option as it hurts my foof
when I ride at dressage length!
Next saddler brings two native pony jumping saddles out after back lady recommends she's need something with a flatter tree. They were in balance but seemed to sit very broad across her withers which she didnt like again. Put other saddle back on and happy again.
... So frustrated that its been 6 weeks now and I still cant resolve (but luckily everything I was entered has been cancelled)!
Off to see someone else Thursday but what do you make of her shape... are yours similar and what do they go in? She has a forward girth groove and is pear shaped. Grass belly has been trimmed down as well through working!
- this makes her look a bit bum high which she isnt
Help!!! Can only offer Pinot grigio in desperation!
