If you planned to "event" a horse (low level to begin with and see where it leads!!!) and you had a dressage saddle and wanted to buy another for all jumping what would you go for?
a gp, a jumping or an xc saddle?
Thanks!!

wouldnt get a GP... possibly a jumping or and xc.. i dont think it makes that much difference! have evented (jumping phases) in both pessoa sj saddles and excelle xc saddles and i loved both of them!

yeah I didn't really want GP TBH but want to see if other people think it would be better?!
I have to choose between SJ and XC as can only have one more saddle not two at the moment!!
I am leaning towards Albion K2 jumping saddle, what do you think? It would be for everything except schooling on the flat? Has anyone got one? Rode in one? Have an opinion on them?
Thanks

I have been told that the k2 was designed for people who are short from their hip to knee, I have the opposite problem so currently trying to track down a kontact!

people i know who have a k2 LOVE it, if you fit it then i think itsw probably the most comfortable out there!

Agree with Daisychain - I recently got a SC XC saddle and love it - I use it for everyhting other than dressage now. Resonable price. Very secure(nubuck knees&seat) & comfortable

I will probably go for the Albion - my dressage saddle is the Albion SLK ultima and I love that which is why I thought I would go for Albion Jumping!

I'm so indecisive but what do any of you guys think of the Harry Dabbs jumping saddles?

I know some people like them, but I personally find them very uncomfortable, far too hard.

I am 5'9 and the Albions are horrid for me to ride in. I have not tried a Kontact as did not quite have the funding but guess they would be fine as WFP is 6'4! I personally would always choose a jumping saddle as they are designed purely for it. XC saddles for me are hybrids which are never that effective. Pessoas are very difficult to fit to horses.
I love close contact single flaps and would never go back to double flap now.

I would definately recommend a jump saddle rather than a GP.
I found the Albion K2 restricted me too much - I have a Bates Caprilli close contact, which I feel lets me sit where I want!

Try and get a saddler to bring a variety out - as everyone is different

Good luck
