Hello i just had to share...

Alice is being measured for her new saddle today and (i dont know why) im quite excited. although im a bit relieved as we have to get a new saddle as the old one doesnt fit her very well and even though im only buying a thorowgood saddle -its all shiny and new.

I have owned alice for about a year now and really feel we just gel. there are days where we argue like two sisters but i love her.

Buying a new saddle for her feels like ive done well. Her previous saddle is a crap fit. it came with her and she was never in great condition with the last owner and i kinda rescued her so think the saddle was fitted when she was a completely different shape and condition. shes now looking fab, workin really well, shiny and relaxed!

Any one else get those days where you realise how much you love your horse(s) and how much time and effort you actually give them AND reap the rewards!!!!!

What a lovely feeling, Unfortunately I am the opposite....

Bert is being fitted on Monday as his Thorowgood does not fit him any more, it couldn't be at a worse time as it is something I can ill afford and have just shelled out £125 for a new body protector.....wishing I hadn't now.

I am panicing that he won't fit a wintec wide and I will have to pay a fortune. Can just about accomodate the nearly £400 that will cost but anything dearer is going to have to be bank of hubby!

yep definatly!!! I've had to work so hard with my horse ove the past year to get to where i am now!!! I lost my confidence with him last year and almost sold him but right now we are stonger than anything....las night he was a little bu**er and I ended up galloping throught thewoods with no stirrups!! Last year that would hav scared the sh!t out of me! but not now, for full story read " First hack in 3 weeks sees me...."

I realise how far we have come...and how much he means to me when i have a really good day and everything comes together!!

people told me i was doing the wrong thing buying hi...but i knew it was right! So i did!!

Hope everything goes well with the saddle! and good luck for the future

O trust me i know that feeling too, i CANNOT afford this saddle (just brought a new car) but as the old saddle really isnt a good fit id rather get the new one than ruin her back/cause her pain obviously.

Im sure if the wintec wide doesnt fit him there are other not too expensive options?! with the thorowgood agent im giving my saddle in for part exchange which should knock aload of the final price. Maybe see if you can find someone who has that option as if his existing saddle isnt great for him is it worth keeping?

people said i was mad for buying Alice she was a crazy ex racer/poor condition/bad feet/had past tendon problems.

once all these were sorted (didnt take long) its kinda just flowed... until the next problem rears its ugly head!
