Saddlebags?

Could anyone suggest a saddlebag that daughter can use when she's going our for long hacks with her pony? I thought about just getting an insulated lunch bag, but wonder if there's anything specific. I don't want a leather bag.
 
I have the shires double sided one, just had to be careful not to pull the left one off dismounting (bit of restitching required!) for more than a sandwich though as a I had a little leather one for that, combined with a specific drinks bottle one.

I find these rather larger than normally needed and have also got hung up on one. I have a numnah with pockets which is normally fine and more secure for a day ride. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/202536522475?chn=ps&var=502589077954

Sorry, are you saying that the leather one has space for a drinks bottle, or you have a separate thing for that?

no separate thing for drinks bottle, used to take it hunting not being a hip flask sort of person ;) no one ever wanted some blackcurrant squash! So this used to go on front dee, small saddle bag on back Ds. The shires one has extra bottles (for long days) and no need for d-rings

horse very numnah fussy so that wasn't an option for us.
 
I had the shires one too but sold it as I kept getting tangled up in it when dismounting. It has loads of space though and easy to fit. I am not the most athletic which is probably why I was getting tangled up lol

Thank you, that's helpful! I've actually ordered the Squires one from Amazon, so can easily return it if it's not right. I'm thinking that she can put her lunch drinks, suncream, and a lightweight Mac in there. If it's all too big once it arrives, and we've had a proper look at it, I think we'll go a small saddlebag & a separate drinks bottle holder like this one.

We're going to try the Shires. Hopefully, 16 yo will be fine!!!
 
yup, you just have to be a bit more athletic pushing yourself away from the saddle as you jump off. I was fine after I'd pulled it apart and restitiched it once ;).
