Saddlecloths without straps - do they slip?

think it depends on the shape of your horse......if I use a standard cut one it slips. If it is a high wither cut, then its fine. why dont you try one you already have without using the straps and that should give you an idea.
 
I always remove the straps from saddle cloths. Most of them are sewn on just behind the wither where the saddle sits - just where you really do not want a lump and pressure on the horse. I've never understood why they do it, and I wonder how many horses behave badly because of it. My numnahs never slip.
