Saddlepad recommendations - close contact

I only use the Nuumed ones with the short straps to the D-rings. Only thing I've found which fits properly under my saddle. You won't be able to get them in a rainbow of matchy-matchy though - black or white only!

love love love the nuumed ones - best ever! If you do have a need for colours other than black and white then you can order from them and they can make you one up in any one from about 40 colours.

Where was that you bought from - do they have their own website?

Sorry its been a long day! Ordered from Horse Health, they have a few delivery options I went for next day Fed Ex £4.95 with option to leave parcel in a safe place. Have ordered several times and never been disappointed

Yes, the LeMieux are nice (really like the short velcro bits). I also use an Anky pad under my Butet monoflap CC saddle and it doesnt budge an inch (even xc / galloping).

I have however recently bought an EcoGold XC pad. It only arrived today and looks amazing! I am yet to use it though (will do tomorrow when I do some fittening work).

They are brilliant :) but pricey :(. Also, no chance of fancy colours. I'm very bitter that they've stopped making a schooling line.

Any link to what they look like and what kind of price?

I have trouble with Anky Pad slipping though that is mainly under my dressage saddle not sure how often I have used with jump saddle as I imagined it would be worse with that

U.K. Stockist is Horses in Sport, & I think the pads are about £100... I really really want one. Don't slip & performed v well in pressure tests i believe...

Yes, some of the pressure test results (done on horses backs) were reallyimpressive. It is that that persuaded me in the end. They are £90 from Horses In Sport, but then a rather hefty £7.99 P&P. If I like this one and want the dressage one, I am going to wait untill I see them at an event.

I know K linked to the ecogold site, but here is the HIS site:

Strangely, the Anky's do slip under my dressage saddle - but never under my jump saddle (even though they are the dressage pads  ). I use them or a bartl sheepy numnah for day-to-day or the white Anky for times I want to do dressage in my jump saddle. It might be worth a go to see if they dont slip as a cheaper alternative?

Thanks I will try the Anky for every day - though I do think I tried them when I first got the saddle. I do need something for shows though. Do the ecogold pads fasten at all? I may wait and have a look at them at the tradestands at Badminton - they will bound to be some for sale there?

You'd think that but they weren't at the BETA trade fair last week, so I don't know. I know HIS did Olympia.. maybe it's worth a message to them to see if they will be there? Where abouts are you based? You are more than welcome to have a look / test ride mine if you are local or we happen to be at the same event?

The EcoGolds do have a "girth loop" to put the long girth straps of a mono through. Plus they are super grippy, with a lovely silky bit over the withers so there is no pressure on them which I think is great :) I really dont see it budging, but am just off to test ride it now so will be more informed thisafternoon ;)

Rambo handy pad. Come in alsorts of colours (Inc White for showing!). I have several and they sit well under all of my saddles, never slip back. I even use them under my dressage saddle.

Ecogold is a very small (Canadian :)) company so I'm not too surprised they don't run trade stands here. They've concentrated on getting their stock into the hands of upper level riders and Teams. Perhaps I should look into being their agent. :)

I am North Cumbria right on Scottish border so unlikely we are close! They do sound lovely though. Look forward to hearing the results of your test ride!

zxp HIS do say their stand will be at badminton so I can look at them there.

In the meantime I will go for a Lemieux one for every day I think. Now the crucial question for a black horse with dark brown tack do you think black or brown would look better (I am avoiding white for everyday use!!)
